Outstanding shots, Rob! You mind sharing the lighting setup for these shots? Thank you, Sahil. The lighting is quite basic. I used a single studio flash head (el cheapo) with a softbox. I placed a round pop-out diffuser panel (basically a bit of mesh - see shot below) between the softbox and the subject. That gives a very soft ethereal light, and importantly for cutlery/tools it reduces unwanted reflections.

That is an excellent use for a Windows user manual...I use mine in the outside lavvy but the paper is a wee bit shiny. Rob once again you have demonstrated why people should not get hung up about gear. It stunts creativity. This simple setup gives truly outstanding results and you can go even simpler by firing a speedlight through a white bed sheet instead of a soft box and studio light.

Ahem... and this is how the pros do it. Although you will notice that they still use bits of scrappy paper for backdrops, and bits of white-painted wood for small reflectors...

Nigella is so tasty she almost makes me wish I were a boy. Almost. You've been spending too much time on a bus, my dear. You need to reconnect with the mother-ship... Which is why I have hi'ed my haunches back here. It is more than time for a bit of insanity.
