Does anyone have any idea why I am now seeing text instead of icons in the Quick Reply taskbar? Is this a ProBoards issue or might it have something to do with a recent Firefox upgrade?

In your firfox add ins, update the flash player, that normally fixes it.

I thought it was just my computer. Thanks for speaking up, Jan.

It may be the roll out of Proboards version 5 that is causing the problem. I will see if there is a fix :-) Update: It's not that. A wee mouse got into the FSC sofa and ate all the icons. I will try to cobble something together over the next few days. I hope you are all well. I must apologise for not contributing of late my attentions have been elsewhere

Apologies for the delay. I had to rebuild that bit of code and refer out to new images. I didn't realise how rusty I was...so rusty my big end dropped off ;D
Also it should not be this hot in the UK....its not British and it's not funny! I realise we are supposed to have a special relationship but can you American types please keep your Death Valley temperatures at home....there are cattle skulls littered along the hard shoulder of the M62

The Death Valley temps stay right where they are supposed to and they can't climb the mountains to get out.
If you are finding cattle skulls along the M62, you may have had a backup with too many cars hauling caravans, Everyone got out and BBQ'ed a cow.

That is very likely given the overpowering stench of barbeque lighter fluid by late afternoon. It is red hot, the skies are azure and there is a smell of warm bracken wafting off the Mosslands....and what do people do...build thousands of fires and squirt gallons of inflammable noxious chemicals into them. Rant over....I get like this with the heat :-)

My blinkin' icons are back! How I missed those little guys making googly eyes and sticking their tongues at me. Thanks, Steve!

Me either. I had a quick look around the back end last night and couldn't find how to switch it on. I think Wirefox is still off the grid so I will have a nother look at it tonight.

This post is an experiment to see what functionality I have left now that I have completely killed all javascript from executing on my browser. This new proboards site has gone from acceptable to excessive regarding on their use of javascript. ( I do not use google+ or the main facebook site because of this same problem ) To give an idea how this impacts my 1 GHz Pentium 4 processor, clicking the "Edit" button now brings up a post for editing in under 30 seconds, if I have javascript enabled, it takes over 30 minutes and that was with me killing the download. ( I do not know how long it would have taken if I allowed it to actually complete by itself ) By comparison, this computer has no trouble handling astronomical image stacking, gigapixel image stitching, photoshop, Electronic circuit modeling and simulations, or anything else I task it. A big plus of javascript being gone is none of proboards annoying adverts show up at all. Another problem impacting me is how my formula posts are presented. To make things easy to follow, I have come to rely heavily on the table feature, all my coding of the posts remains unchanged, but none of the table lines show up any more. If the tables can't be restored to something similar to the prior version, I have no idea how I would have to rewrite everything. ( This would be a greater effort than just adding CAS numbers ) and I just found a whole new resource to glean actual manufacturers formulas. All this assumes I can at least achieve minimal functionality with javascript disabled. ( I hope this post will succeed ) BTW, all the column sort functions are now gone, irregardless of my javascript settings. I have so many formulas that I used this to sort by Subject and even came to adjusting subjects to control where posts appear when sorted.

Where are the latest threads? No can find squat on this new layout. Chris, I found you can Search, just enter the number of days or hours to look back under When to search... posted within the last --days-- --hours-- The problem with this is you get all the posts opened and listed one right after the other with no reference to what category they came from.

This current page setup will kill what's left of this forum if it's not corrected. If I came to this page without any previous knowledge, I'd come and go about as quickly as it would take two mouse clicks.
there is a new setting at the top right of the home page that says "Participated," but it's hard to find, read and doesn't tell what it's for. I know both Steve's are working on a fix...bless their pointy little heads.
