Just a suggestion, but would it be worth having a page of thumbnails of uploaded images, then if we clicked on a particular thumbnail it would take us to that particular thread.

I think it's a good idea, too. What we need is a good script code that would do that for us.

Or maybe have the option when we upload a image to add it to the gallery. As some images uploaded may not be what we want in a gallery.

I have looked into this some time ago. At this time Proboards software does not allow an 'intelligent' gallery with thumbnails. You can always use the Members Galleries and link the image in the gallery to either your Flicker light box or to the page in the forum where the image is discussed. You can even create your own thumbnails with links by selecting the thumbnail size in Flickr and then right click and select 'Copy Image Location' (or whatever it is in PC land) You then use the following code in your post substituting "http://yoursite.com/" for the url of the place or post you wish to go to when the thumb is clicked and substituting "http://image.jpg" for the link you have copied from the right clicking in Flickr. This is an example of what can be done. I have used the same image and same location for the sake of illustration but you get the idea. Remember that if you want thumbs to sit next to each other as per the example you need to put each piece of code that represents a thumbnail directly following each other. The number of spaces between each module of code determines the gap between the thumbnails. I have used 4 spaces in my example. The thumbs will rearrange themselves automatically when the web page is resized. Obviously you can have as many thumbs as you wish...just keep adding the thumb code strings as in the above example. It seems a bit cumbersome but when you get used to it it can be done very quickly.

I will have a go at this over the next few days or early next week, as I have a busy weekend.

I have just had another play, and can now get the thumbnails in a line and each one will link to that particular thread. But I had to do this in 'Show us your Best 5 shots' so that I could use the preview option to make sure that everything works (quite a few attempts were required ;D). This is not a option in the Member's Galleries. Now I know that the coding is working I have copied it to a word document until I know where to post it.

Hi Barry, the Members Gallery is coded so there may be a glitch there. I think the bast thing to do is for me to created a separate board so that we can post our images/thumbnails as per a normal post.
I will have a look at this as soon as possible.

I have put the gallery board in the Member Galleries area. www.f-stop-cafe.com/index.cgi?board=mgalleriesI think I now need to find some code that will allow members to lock their own threads...or would you prefer to allow other members to comment on your gallery pages?

I don't think we need comments, as any comments can go in the specific threads of that image. But what does other members think.

OK, I have managed to set up a gallery, I found it easier to open a NotePad document to do all of the coding, then copy and paste.

On second thoughts, I think keep the comments on in the gallery.

I use the Mac's TextEdit to do the same it is far easier than using the post box. I will look into member thread locking. I really like the result of your thumbnail page Barry. I have left a comment to encourage others to have a go. Let me know if you want me to delete my comment it could get messy if multiple comments are made.
