You only get a few like this and believe it or don't, it's damn close to SOOC. This was about four minutes later and a bit to the right of the top shot. "The Life and Death of a Summer Squall"

Chris, they're both magnificent, but the top one is breathtaking, and I love the tiny accent of the waxing crescent moon up there. The land in silhouette on both is perfect too, and you've caught those sharp and subtle differences of colour in the town lights beautifully. I'm struggling to think of anything that might be improved. Perhaps a slight crop, top or bottom on the second one, and I don't know if anyone bothers to clone out contrails. I don't, but maybe the one on the top right of the second one could go. But on both points I'm not sure. I just love looking at these as they are

Yes Chris, not often you get a chance at one such as this, and you have handled it nicely! That first image is drop dead gorgeous!

Yes number one is quite stunning. Good control of exposure too which is always a challenge with sky shots.

I did a slight variation on the exposure level this morning thinking it was a tad too dark on the original...and now hope I am not overthinking myself.

Original is better for me Chris. You have lost some of the richness.

The first original one for me. So beautiful...... (only because of the moon of course, but you already understood that )

Great job as usual, Chris. I have no preference and like them both equally.
Hope you fared ok after Debby.
