River end. That's the river beyond the trees.

Thanks to Janis for sparking an interesting thread. I too must apologise for diving in and out a bit recently. Much like everyone else, life gets in the way sometimes. However, at this precise moment I am sat in a hotel reception waiting to be collected by my new employer. It was an early start 3.30am to drive to my old employers head office, dump my car in the Chief Exec's private space, post my keys and phone through the letterbox and just nough time left to paint a fallic symbol on the door ;D (ok so I may have imagined the last bit). Anyway, I have stuck a big two fingered salute to some people that have made my life hell for the last few months. The end result should be more time to build my photography business, and more time on here. As Charlie Sheen would say...........WINNING. Back to business. I can see why you like the image Janis and understand that perhaps it was difficult to convey what you felt and experienced at the time you took it. I like it, but probably more because it reminds me of being in a similar scene myself rather than your image driving my senses and imagination. But that doesn't mean it has failed, far from it in fact. Some people spend years trying and failing to produce images that invoke an emotional response in the viewer. You achieved that here for me at least. The other critique has been very well said and is all true. With those missing bits tackled it could have been a truly great image. As far as the polariser goes, I feel your pain. If you leave it in a case in the bag, you forget to use it but if you leve it on the camera the conditions are not right. But that is what makes photography such a great hobby
