Just so you know I've not been totally idle, I'm posting a phone shot from yesterday. I've been having a lot of fun playing with the 645 Pro camera app; as I said elsewhere, I find its b&w film simulations quite seductive. I initially processed the original of this shot in Snapseed, but didn't realize that the phone display was on auto-brightness and the image was brighter than I meant to be. This one I edited on the computer with Viveza and Aperture. I'm thinking there may be no point carrying around the Canon PS95 anymore.

Very seductive indeed. I love the shapes and the composition. I love the light play as well. Well, everyting about this, I love.
Nice job, Jan.

Thanks, Marie. I've just started learning how to use this camera, so I can maybe wrest some more quality out of it yet. In fact, I'm sure I can, as I have been shooting JPEGs, but the 645 PRO has an option to shoot TIFFs. (Hmmm, I wonder how long before I fill up my phone's 16GB...) I am going to change the setting and try to get a similar shot right now.

I like the three vines curving to the left and the fact that each one is darker than the one above it. Very nice detail overall.

I wonder if the leaves at the bottom right couldn't stand just a tad of lightening and the vines just a wee-wee bit of a gradient fill...but then again, I wonder about a lot of stuff so who knows, eh?

When I learn how to do a gradient fill, I will give it a try, Chris. My own feeling is that the brighter leaves could use some more tonal variation. I expect it would help to shoot TIFFs.
