Hello Barry, I like the contrast between the upbeat pristine swan and the downbeat, drab look of everything else. I do wonder if things might be a bit better balanced if the swan where less near the edge of the frame. Judging from the sky there is plenty more water to come. ;D

Thanks Nick, I did clone out quite a few other swans and ducks as I only wanted one in the image. And I purposely kept him/her bright as the main focal point. You could be right with the rain, we have a lot more forecast for tomorrow.

Gads, you're going to shoot me...but I would darken the swan just a tad..seems a bit bright.

Excellent image Barry. Don't you think that the right side needs a bit more room ? This is a photograph I wouldn't mind to be one of mines. And this - Barry - is a compliment

Thanks Antonio and Chris, I will be getting this one printed and I will get a version printed with the swan not so prominent and see how the prints compare.

I am not sure Barry if you should make the swan more prominent or the hole scene...

I am not sure Barry if you should make the swan more prominent or the hole scene... I don't want to make the swan any more prominent than it is already, but I will tone down the swan a bit, then get both versions printed to see which one looks better.

Do you print with your own equipment or do you "outside" I went "outside" the day before yesterday and the images are great.

I only own a monochrome laser printer . All my printing is done on-line using DSCL, can't beat their pricing. I use their paper profiles, and the lustre finish on Fuji paper suits my monochrome prints.

They use Fuji paper Have you any of their books ? No, for books I always use Blurb, they are not the cheapest, but the quality and customer service is spot on.
