I captured this guy this morning. He was about 100 yards away from his harem of about 20 doe's. Taken with my Tamron 70-300mm, hand held, 300mm, f/8.0 1/1250 and ISO 400.

Wow, Mark! You'll have to wait for someone who's more discerning to come along and say something more helpful. I just know that he's in such a gorgeous setting (I love the natural browns of autumn) and there's a catch light in his eye and everything. I'm so glad to see you post! That's a pretty good image for being hand held at 300mm.Only wish there was more color behind him besides brown,but then again it's turning into that time of the year.Great shot.

Lovely image of this guy in his natural environment. That side lighting really does the whole image a favour and hives him some good separation from the background with that slight shadow outline on his chest and neck.
