Adding 500 pix as another photography go to site has been a real treat.Being able to see so many fine images and using them for inspiration and study tools has opened my eyes and mind into the possibilities of trying other avenues besides nature. Not that I'm not inspired by the works of the people on this forum,It's just a hot bed of fine images to me.Click on my link and go to my favorites and you'll see some familiar names and some not so familiar ones. Having said that,as I was going through the photo portfolios of other photographers this morning I came across a woman named Magda indigo and was blown away by her work which has pushed me to try my hand at more still life photography.I've had one image in my head since I took one semester of photography in the eighties that I will try as soon as I can gather up the items that I need. The image below is a shot of some of my wife's watercolor brushes.Using available light from a window(my next purchase will have to be a hot shoe flash with a cord for off camera use)this is what I came up with. I guess I'll shut up now and go back to filling my mind with more ideas. P.S.A few other names that inspire are Karl Williams,Axel Hilderbrandt, and Sasi-Smit.

Yes, I like the light here as well and think that I would not be so inclined if it were arteficial, as the natural light has done brilliantly here.

Ron, flash would have given you no advantage with this shot. It is worth remembering that flash is a stand in for natural light not a replacement. This is a very difficult subject, reflections, black and side light and you have done a really good job of it.
