In that other forum it is required the image not exceed 700 dpi on the longest side...
What is the requirement for this forum as it seems that some of the images on here are significantly larger and "clearer" than on that other forum?

We have not set up a size limit for the images, Chris. On the practical side, I would be personally inclined to set it at 1024 pixels on the largest side since that is the width of the screen resolution size for a small 14" laptop.

yes, I do appreciate it when I can see, at least, one version that fits on my laptop's screen so that I can see the whole resolution composition (is what I meant to say. Where is my brain, today?)- i do, also, very, very much like seeing things large enough to really see detail.=]

I tend to set the maximum dimension at 1000px. If anybody is having difficulty with this please shout and I'll change my bad habits (and post smaller pics !!)

I have a bit of code that prevents images being posted larger than a size set by the admins. I may need to use this if the membership increases significantly. For the time being I think most of us post between 800-1000px
Please remember that proboards does restrict the number of 'attachments; made to posts. I think it is about 2Gb per user so its best to post images as per the instructions on the Welcome Mat board

We can always post a link to a larger version on Flickr. Well we could if we were members of Flickr !! ;D
