Seri
You know I was just looking at the owl on Jim's blog and realised we have no 'Natural World' section either. We have no posts in the galleries yet so it might be better to create that and stick Macro in as a sub section. I will try to look at it before I go out

That sounds like a perfect solution

OK done. See how that pans out. I realise not all macros are of nature but I want to avoid too many categories if possible

There's always that problem with Macros, because they can span all the other categories. And then there's all the arguments on other forums about the difference between Macros and Close-Ups. For myself I'm happy to leave the individual photographer to decide which section things belong in. Like Katy, I'm not into getting anally microscopic about my Macros, and have happily put Close-Ups in Macro sections on other forums in the past, to the dismay of the purists Avoiding too many categories is every Admin's nightmare, but I've love to see an 'Abstract/Semi-Abstract' section one day

Avoiding too many categories is every Admin's nightmare, but I've love to see an 'Abstract/Semi-Abstract' section one day I thought about an abstract section to.good idea Seriche. I have made a rod for my own back by presetting categories since once people start posting I will have some work to move things about but you can have as many categories as you like. My thoughts were that I do not want to scroll down pages to see what is going on. Having said that forums like POTN and Talk Photography have yards of categories and people seem to manage OK. I will create an Abstract & Digital Art category though. Not because it is my own area but because its a damn good idea EDIT: Moving posts and threads is easier than I thought (I love ProBoards) so if members think it is all getting too much we could have a bit of a re-hash...dont leave it to late though
