Caught this one on the same day as the blue demoiselles. I like the wings on these flies. EXIF Camera: Panasonic DMC-FZ45 Exposure: 0.003 sec (1/320) Aperture: f/5.6 Focal Length: 108 mm ISO Speed: 80

I liked the macro detail on these so much, I ordered that camera today...I think it will make a nice backup unit and a primary for some other stuff. Thanks for the info.

They have an amazing focal range, but can be very noisy in certain conditions. Let us know how you get on...

They have an amazing focal range, but can be very noisy in certain conditions. Let us know how you get on... Rob It's no doubt noisy at times due to the small sensor. My Panasonic G1 has an APS-C size sensor and doesn't suffer from any real noise problems. But the shot posted above looks pretty good to me for a camera at that price. The level of detail and sharpness is excellent. www.trustedreviews.com/Panasonic-Lumix-DMC-FZ45_Digital-Camera_review

I really only want it for the macro capabilities...these are better than anything I've gotten so far with my 100 mm macro and it cost a s-load more than this camera...

Awesome detail and control on the exposure, Rob. I'm impressed that your little camera can go as low as ISO 80. Mine is stuck at ISO 200. ;D

Thanks all, Yes it's a super little thing to carry around, very lightweight and good for street shots (and macros), and it takes RAW files! Not bad for a little nipper! With an equiv 600mm zoom (24x optical) that's where it can suffer the most, but in good light all is OK. ISO80 beats my ISO100 DSLR as well!
