Awesome shots for your first posts here, Paul! Great colors lights, and curves! A bit too high on the contrast side but still very much OK. The size is fine. We are trying to limit the max width for posting to be 1000px so you're good to go.

I think the most common size for image posting would be 800px. Our sensible limit here is about 1000px or for commonality would be 1024px. Hope this helps, Paul.

I don't know, Paul. It looks like you had way too much fun doing these. The compositions - those S curves - hm, mm, mmmmm! ;D (That means something good. : In the first one, the sky seems to have an oily sheen to it. Does that make any sense? or, is it just my silly screen? and, honestly, I don't care for the orange safety netting at the bottom but I still love the image! Was the second one shot higher up? I like that one can see the water better in it, too! and, then, just another sleepy idea... I wish that you were backed up a bit further so that you could include the whole bridge to balance the downtown area. (There wasn't a cliff or anything behind you? : and, one other thing! Nah - JK! Well, I don't know how much it matters but a clear sky (in Seattle? HA!) at blue hour would be really beautiful. I don't know about all of these comments I've made - just thinking out loud. I think that they're seriously nifty shots.

Thanks Katy, it was a good time. I have no clue what is goin on with the sky. It does not show like that in print. I also took out the fence for print. ;D As for the bridge....it is actually the top of one of our new sport areanas. Had to replace the old King Dome as it was falling on peoples heads. There were trees on both sides of me and I had one vantage point. The best I could do is zoom in/out.

Oh, and, did I mention that the helicopter is true serendipity? (If I did, just ignore me - I really am tremendously sleepy....)

Hi Paul, lovely nite shots you have there.... When I read the title I was hoping to see the Space Needle... I like the way you took the picture, especially the S curve light trail.. On the 2nd image, I also see light trail on the sky.. Is it a helicopter like Katy said?? (sorry Katy, I hv to ask.. ;D )

Thank you Don. Helicopter it is! Just so ya know Katy, you are the first whom knew it was a heli. I think it was a news chopper reporting on the traffic. I waited for him to circle hoping I might catch him. Dumb luck I caught him right where I did. =} Oh and Don...the Space needle is on the other side of the city. As soon as I find the vantage point I like I will get that shot for ya. ;D

Paul
The second image is a great composition. But I'm finding on my monitor that it looks far too warm on the WB. Was it shot in RAW? It may be the nature of the street and car lights doing it.

Thanks Rob, yes the WB is a little off and Chris had mentioned it once before. It just didn't seem to change the warmth much. Though it did brighten the sky a little more than I liked. I took another look and re-worked it a little. Also re-touched the other. Oh and yes it was shot in Raw. It is now WB, and as you see...while slightly better on the street it is mostly castoff from the lighting I think.

Yes, the edits are an improvement. It must be worthwile going back there at regular intervals - it's such a great location. I'd try it a little earlier in the blue hour, just after the building light come on. Must try some more night shots myself.

I agree Rob....great spot and honestly not as well known as you might think. It is rather hidden. I will be going back for a clear night and a snowy night. ;D Oh and here is one from earlier that evening. Now you have begining middle and end.
