Here's my 5... Glad to see 3 out of the 5 are my favourites too (one, three and five) Now this is interesting for me because, so far, except for the Rob (M) set they are pretty much what I would have selected from your work too.

I am not so sure these are the very best, but they are five which have significant meaning to me in my journey toward becoming a more accomplished photographer and in developing better PP skills. Each of these is the direct result of someone else's comments or instruction on that other forum. I will come back later and add the EXIF data as I am in the middle of resorting all my images and things are a bit scattered to the wind at present. This one belongs to Jiro's instruction on adding a B&W layer and changing the blend to luminosity...it did absolute wonders in allowing the mist to stand out from the marsh grasses. Indirectly, this goes to Donald for consistently pushing his tonal ranges and making me push myself to explore a better range myself. Nikkor 35mm 1.8 on the D7000 This goes again to Jiro but as well, to Yan Zhang who gave me lots of insights to shooting in fog. Pretty sure this is with the 18-105 kit lens on the D7000 Heavily influenced by Martyn (nomadr) who disappeared from everyone's radar a while back...but to using a long lens for CU photos in place of a macro... Tamron 70-300 Macro Zoom, D7000 And this one, quite recent because I think I finally understand the dynamics of late afternoon light, to me for learning... 50-300 Nikkor Nikon D7000

Maybe not my best 5 but they are the five I currently hold in high regard for one reason or another. Taken at a Lake Washington park in Kirkland, I stopped during my work day looking for bird and here I find turtles. Appearently the climb up against eachother like this to sun. Taken for someone speciall. This was very early morning light, the sun peeking threw the trees coming to rest on the flower heads. This big guy hung out while I crawled hands and knees threw mud and blackberries to get the shot. Took me 15-20 min to get to my position dirty and bleeding. Worth it. ;D Man I met, down on his luck. We talked for some 30 min{very good guy}. I asked if I could take a couple shots. First time I went shooting with other than Bow or gun with Dad. This was the first day of January coming to an end. Freezing cold weather gave a great sky, but nearly froze my lense off. ;D

ChrisC, I love how you are trying out all types of photographic genre with your shots. I wonder what would be your favorite type of photography to master on as you progress on your journey?

I think at some point, I am going to have to re-explore shooting people again. At one time, I was quite a good portrait artist both photographically and in other media. Black and white wilalways be at the forefront of my favorite expressive photography, though I think I am doing pretty well in getting the hang of color work.

As I have only been posting images on one forum or another since late April of this year(about the same time i purchased my D3100),here are my 5 that i feel turned out pretty well. My first mini comp winner. My first themed winner. "Hen Fruit" My first architectural image that turned out rather well and has caused me to take many a return trip to capture more images of the lighthouse. My first composite that turned out the way I envisioned "The Gathering" And last but not least an image of my wife who hates to have her photo taken but had no problems with me posting this image on any forum. "Vision"

I don't have many keepers in my collection and this list will be probably outdated in the near future but here are what I consider my best 5: #1 "Alone" was shot when I was taking my first steps into photography. It has sentimental value for me and may well not be the best one I have. I was really surprised with the good reception it had when I first posted it. #2 "Gathering (In black and gold)" is another one from my very first ones. Processed much later than it was shot (3 months) when I was more comfortable with pp tools. It is on the verge of being too "cascaisian" but it has something of me in it. #3 "Waiting for the sun" with a cooperative model ;D. #4 "Aphrodite". Which means the one that was born from the foam. An experiment that turned out well. Luck played a major role in capturing the moment. #5 "Watcher". Thanks to the kind directions of people in this site.

Good sets of images from you, Giannis. Your style of photography seems to go very well with b&w's. I would love to see how you develop further down the road. What I like about your work is that you know how to go minimalist but just enough to convey the message you want to say. For me, that is a very good, definite progress in such a short time. Keep up the good work, bro'.
