#1 #2 #3 There was a look that I was going for with these....soft, shadowy, faded. What do you think? They're a warm up for food photography (which intimidates me to death. )

Katy these are all very well photographed and I think the use of DoF is spot on with these. The second image is particularly subtle. The pastel shades are very calming...and boy do I need that just now

Steve pretty much said what I was thinking. I much prefer the perspective and comp of these over the last cup of roses. Again stepping it up/raising the bar! Well done!

Good work Katy. #2 is beautiful and refreshingly different - not at all the standard still life.

Image 1 - For me, this is the weakest of your set when compared to the other two, I think it is due to the background, where the blue tablecloth ends, I think it would had been better have it all on blue.
Image 2 - This is the winner by far, great use of narrow DOF. And the background colours are so muted and soft, it works well with the detail in the roses and handle.
Image 3 - Although similar to the first image, I think having the tea spoon helps to balance the shot. Plus the green leaves seem to stand out better in this one, which helps to separate the roses from the cup.

Very beautiful set Katy with #2 being my favorite of the three. The composition of that image is well framed along with a spot on dof.Have to agree with Barry(hey I got the name right ;D)with the blue place mat not filling in the back of the image.Other than that a job well done.

Thanks so much for the feedback, guys! My vague cold kind of wiped me out, this afternoon (actually, it means that I'm feeling better! I'll read this, again, tomorrow. (I'm glad that I'm not the only one who gets Barry's name mixed up - usually with Dave, though. I have no idea why.... )
