We've had such a wonderful, fun time with my parents for the past three weeks but it has been a bit of a whirlwind! We're driving them down to Boston, tomorrow. We had a special dinner on Mother's Day and a wonderful, wonderful last dinner, this evening - such good family times! These are tiny 'amuse bouche' - there's a fig in the center surrounded by herbed goat cheese - wrapped in cracker crumbs with a touch of fig jam and lemon thyme. #1 #2 Just a quick peek at the table... Insight, please? I'm struggling with getting things light enough to catch the eye and look fresh but not overly bright and not too washed out.

I don't know Katy, other than a slight rotation of the third one, they look great.

A very fine table and amuse Katy. I looks so delicious (and so, it seems to be very well captured, especial the second one).
Paul what do you want, after such a diner..... a bit rotated picture is normal under that conditions, I think ;D

Katy, I actually would like #1, if it were a tighter crop. I like being able to see the goat cheese, and I like the thyme in focus. To me, #2 is nice, but does not have the sensual appeal that #1 has. You did a great job on the focus and lighting of #3, but as Paul said, a little straightening would cinch it, I think.
Now I am hungry for what you have fixed. I can taste the sweet, salty, smooth, crunchy, lemon perfumed tang of your "amuse".

Thanks, Marie and Paul and Pierre! I liked the softness in the first and the crunchy look with a little more substance in the second. The plate was adorable...and I'm having a hard time letting go of the fact that we can't see it.... I'll get on with it and crop it in. and the tilt? Oh, I don't know....I thought that it sort of has a sort of....ummm....panache or something like that. ;D Thunder and lightning - gotta go!

Here's the edit, Marie... I'm not too invested in this one, though, and think I'd better move on. What I'm really doing is seeing if I can upload a photo from LR, that has been edited, separately, from the first one. Are the original photos visible?

I don't know why it worked, this time but it's probably just renaming it....
