Alright! There's a whole silly slew of them - six, to be exact! Can you spot the 'mistakes'? #1 #2 #3 #4 Never mind! There's no focus point and it doesn't pass the test. Wait! No! Now, it's back in - I missed it with the other ones. #5 I didn't mean to do this quite like this. Actually, I'm not quite sure how I did this one. What do you think? #6 B&W was hard! Did it work? C&C warmly appreciated!

First is not showing Katy I just realized that it didn't load the updated version and I'm sitting here tapping my foot waiting for it to hurry up! No! You're joking! sigh. edit: you know, two and three and, even, four, don't really make sense without the first. I hope it's there, now, for you to see, too!

Yup it is there. I like it as well, and #3&4. as for the B&W I just think you did a nice job with the conversion Katy.

Thanks, Paul - that's good! I didn't mean to take #5 down. I meant to take #4 down. Actually, I seem to be desperately post challenged, tonight. I think that I really rather need to say, instead, 'goodnight!!!' Goodnight!

I really like these Katy.
#1 first, then 4 and 5. I think its the dark background that makes them work best for me.
Not keen on the B&W. Althought the lid looks wonderful, the tea just doesn't look right.

Thanks, Steve! Yeah, the color of the tea was so tricky - I worked the red/orange slider to death but, either it looked like coffee or it looked like very yucky, murky water. Perhaps I'll work on it, again, now that I'm rested. (sort of - need more than six hours of sleep and just can't seem to get it, these days! ) i want to try this again with softer light....and the orange just wouldn't do what I wanted it to do; so, have to rethink that. and.... it turned out to be a bit of a decapitated self portrait....and look at the white stripe of the door frame. So, there was a bit of cloning to do. I know that, if I wear darker clothes, that will help me stay out of the picture but, I don't know how to avoid the room being reflected. I mean, I don't have an empty and dark room. So, am I stuck, then? or, does anyone else have a clever idea? A black cloth hanging, perhaps, but I don't think that I can cover the entire door frame.

I think you are into the realm of needing a softbox. Its a kind of tent, pop up cube thing that is all made from translucent material and you just poke your lens through a small slit in one side. Why control a whole room when you can just control your tenty cubey pop up thingy

OOOOoooooooh... is that what those are, then - is that how they do it?! I heard vague discussions about that a year and a half ago and totally forgot until just now. Hmm! Do I have to buy that, too? You know, I think that my head is included in the self portrait, after all... I look like a Salvador Dali! ;D

I would class it as a conceptual self portrait then Katy I have one, it wasn't that expensive, probably about $40 or so. I got some cheap daylight balanced lamps to go with it too. I bet its something Jiro could make though. I remember his improvised flash diffuser. Some plain net curtain or muslin cloth, garden bamboo canes, double sided sticky tape, pipe cleaners and a yoghurt pot and Bob's your uncle

Just noticed this one Katie. Your first shot just cries out for one of those wonderful shiny black acrylic backgrounds that our old friend the Welsh Wizard used to such good effect. Dare I say it would then look better without the vegetation? ;D
