I love echinacea too and grew it for years on the farm, but never thought to photograph it. Those wee curly bits on the edge of the centre are very cute. I am imagining a bee's eye view as it approaches to harvest pollen.

Thanks everyone.I had seen other photo's of echinacea on different sites and was glad the wife brought one home. There are two more blooms coming out of this plant so I'll be shooting it many more times.

After further review, I wonder if you changed some of the shooting controls in your camera if you could avoid what seems to be a somewhat consistent "over-saturation" of color. I am watching your development closely so when I have my setup ready, I can learn from your mistakes - hey, what are friends for. Do you have your shooting mode in "Neutral" and not "Vivid?" Inquiring minds want to know.

I'll check on the settings when I get home as I'm one of the working stiffs on this forum. The over saturation could be from my pp as I like to shoot outdoors and when I stack my images it seems to blow out certain areas of my images, such as the petals on the photo above. And I have bumped up the saturation a tad in raw and elements( maybe a case of overkill).
