My prints came!!! Oh, yes, they did! I have finally broken the ice - faced my printing phobias - got around to it - etc. and have won! ;D (and, without a psychologist, too *)
The detail in the trees on Big Snowy Barn (500px.com/photo/4289859 are gorgeous! Love the lone pine in the foggy field of buttercups (500px.com/photo/2910786) but, best of all, oddly, is the Renoir field (500px.com/photo/4904631) on metallic paper - GORGEOUS! (If I do say so, myself. ) I did about fifteen different prints - some small and medium and four that I was already sure looked good on paper, in a big size. A set of about six for summer, a set from winter, and a few other random ones.
I've, also, been learning a lot about framing and matting and wanted to share some links:
The part about the different types of mats, at the end of this short article, is invaluable to me. Also, learned the difference about 4-ply, 8-ply, backing, double matt, etc.: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mat_%28picture_framing%29
Not sure if I'm going to do it exactly this way but this has some good ideas (do any of you use white gloves, too? Any particular kind or, are white gloves just white gloves.... ;D): photo.tutsplus.com/tutorials/post-processing/an-expert-guide-to-matting-and-framing-a-photo/
here's a good resource for framing and matting (if you scroll down, there's a section for just mats. I'm going to sell some framed and some unframed - all secured in mats with my signature and the name of the image): www.aifriedman.com/browse.cfm/framing/2,3.html
But! Lucky, lucky me! Our family is in the retail business and I have a business number at my disposal. It's looking very hopeful that I'll be able to buy framing supplies from Nielsen/Bainbridge at wholesale.
So, it's all coming along.... now, I'm working on a website. (weep! Will it never end? ) But it's all good!!!
