This is an older image that I am using to practice my post processing on. I don't think I'll be able to do much better with my current level of PP skill but I do have one concern and that is cropping. The original had much more 'dead' background space above it. I was shooting for a 1600pi X 1000pi ratio and still keep the icicles on the brick at the bottom but as a result I may have taken too much off the top. Your thoughts? Attachments:

Kill the purple border as it pulls too much away from the flowers.

I love color but can't pick em' to save my soul. Thanks Chris! Slightly larger crop with a more subdued border. Attachments:

I like the second crop more. The black border is cool to.

Considering the complexity of the subject, I think what hurt the shot is the lack of resolution even at actual image size. This really calls for a tripod shot and some extra flash to bring out the detail. Flash photography is the way to go for bringing out the detail of anything. I always prefer simple borders as I don't want the border to get some attention away from the shot. For me, I'd go for a higher vantage point on one shot and go macro on another. Nice work, Frank!

Hi Frank. I find the red of the bricks a bit too bright and not very complementary to the green. Can I suggest something like this just to de-saturate the reds a bit. I also tweaked the green upwards slightly.

Thanks Steve. I guess I really need to figure out how to use a colour wheel! LOL!
