I love clouds too, there is just something about them... Beautiful colour with that setting sun lighting up the sky. I'd consider cropping some of the sea off the bottom, just to see if that makes for a stronger image. I realise that there is some good light and colour down there, but it is more difficult to focus on the main event, the clouds.

Cool, Giannis! Expanding and exploring your "theme".

Hi Giannis, Fabulous colours And I love those silhouettes; especially the crane. I agree with Kit about cropping off some of the sea, and her reasons for suggesting it. The horizon's too central as it stands now. In paintings, the advice is often given that if the sky is busy, the land/sea is best kept simple, and vice versa, and to my eye those foreground waves are definitely a bit too busy and draw the eye away from those lovely clouds. So yes, as Kit said, crop the sea. I'd do it quite severely, but look forward to others commenting on that as they may have different views on that. Cheers, Seri

Thank you all for the feedback. I have to part ways with the beautiful dark sea at the bottom? Just kidding... In paintings, the advice is often given that if the sky is busy, the land/sea is best kept simple, and vice versa Thank you Seri for that. be sure that i will remember it.

Another great shot Giannis. I like the new crop better for sure.
For me though the interest is in the transition of the colours from the black horizon through red, pink, orange, yellow. Beautiful.
Have you considered a pseudo pano crop with the black horizon on the top third to take out the blue sky?
I know that isn't what you wanted to show but I just think that the image lends itself to that. Feel free to ignore my suggestion:-)

I think that I'm with Steve, here. I like the bottom part of the image and the horizon better than the sky. You could lose the top of the sky and crop down. The color is all in the bottom half of your image. You're right about the gorgeousness of the water - it's really something else! =] or..... you could just take this experience and apply it to the next time. (That's what I usually do... I think that the horizon also needs a slight counter clockwise rotation - it's not quite level. Mick is right.... you've got "the eye"!

Well, this was the first time I went to that place with the only thing in my mind being photography. And I intended to shoot people (with that I did not succeed).
Thank you all for the advice. I'll be better prepared next time.

....just remember...it's only opinion.... I much prefer this new crop. It concentrates interest on the horizon and the clouds become secondary players. Not what you intended, I think, but this is a much stronger image.

Kit, I'll have to sit back and think about it. I believe I have not captured it correctly. I see that I tried to get it all in when I could simply concentrate on the clouds or the sea and make each of them a lot stronger. Hopefully, it will be better next time. Thanks for the comment.
