Hi George coming from NZ & living in Australia, I have seen my share of beer bottles...well more than my share I guess But none as lovely as this. The light on the bottle is lovely and the colour and blur of the background really complements the scene. The gap between the bottle and the glass though I find distracting, I would have liked the beer bottle twisted just a tiny bit, as we dont need to see the barcode, then placed just a tad closer to close the gap and tie them together. I am looking forward to the next in the series though...will it have the glass full with a lovely foam cascading over the side she wonders?

Kay, thanks for your comments. You're right about the bar code. I didn't even notice it.

I like the bokeh and the fact that you got the condensation from the chilled bottle starting to frost, there. Also, you did watch the light in a rather nice way the glowing bottle makes it very appealing! I have mixed feelings about this BUT, did you use a tripod? The reason i say this is because, in live view mode, you can study what you've got for a composition and tweak it to your hearts content - angles, etc. Composition is just as important in still life - it's just another type of Landscape. Sometimes, though, I struggle to get the light just right when I'm using the tripod. I do some with and some without and my favorite is always the blurry one that I handheld. It's my goal for the winter to get better at this. Those are just thoughts. One other thing about your image, I wish that there wasn't cropped so tightly on the bottom and on the right. Just a thought! love this, though, actually! Sam Adams - New England in every way!

Steve - thanks for your comment. I think I'm going to have another go at this. Katy - I did use a tripod, although it's a cheapie and I didn't use weights to steady the setup. I have to teach myself to slow down and study the shot before I trip the shutter. That barcode is rather glaring, but I didn't see it at all. As for the crop, I felt that that part of the shot was uninteresting. Thank you so much for taking the time to comment. I appreciate your input!
