Get A Vanity Plate For LightroomDid you know that you can put a vanity plate on your Lightroom screen? This may sound a bit pointless but it can actually avoid confusion if you have multiple catalogs as each one can have a different vanity plate. The area at the top left of the Lightroom screen is called the Identity Plate. Every time a new catalog is created it is automatically assigned the Lightroom Default identity plate as in the image below. To change the identity plate into a vanity plate there are just a few very simple steps. Go to Edit > Identity Plate Setup… When the Identity Plate Editor pops up, first make sure you click to check the “Enable Identity Plate” box. You can then either simply enter your chosen text by clicking to use text as below. You can change the font and size etc as you would expect. Or you can choose to select a graphic such as your logo as below by selecting the other option. Simply click the Locate File button and select a suitable image file. This can be either a .psd or .jpg file but the maximum height is 50 pixels. And there you have it, your very own vanity plate. If you end up needing to create several different catalogs for different projects, you can assign a specific vanity plate to each one to avoid any confusion over which catalog is active.
