This has been posted by The Master Photographers Association and looks to be genuine although the site looks down at the moment of posting but it has to be worth a go for those who could never quite bring themselves to pay for photoshop.

Call me cynical but
I got an email from 500px saying someone wanted to buy one of my images...what it really did was simply take me to the area of 500px that encourages me to place put my images in their market place.
It would appear that spamming is not restricted to a man in Nigeria trying to sell me viagra ;D

I am very low maintenance Jan. A pint of baby oil a week, a squirt of WD 40 on my distributor from time to time and I go for miles. I may need a push on cold mornings but my insurance premium is low since I am now officially classified as 'classic - vintage'.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using proboards

There is a link here to it www.gizmodo.co.uk/2013/01/grab-photoshop-and-cs2-for-absolutely-free-right-now/They are not giving it away free. they are giving it away free so you will buy CS6 in a few weeks time, and believe me, you probably will. CS6 is awesome and will do just about everything you will ever need to in processing. The thought of going back to CS2 now would make me depressed. So yeah, download it if you want. But get the chequebook out ready...

Totally agree Rob, it would be like trying to shoot without cards and Chris will tell us just how difficult that is. Given the choice of CS2 or nothing though I know which I would choose ;-)

That's right - keep rubbing it in... ;D Given the choice of CS2 or nothing though I know which I would choose ;-) It's certainly worth getting to see if you really need CS, and if you do an you can afford CS6 then it's a good way to evaluate it. For the record - CS6 is about £640, and the upgrades normally cost about £180 every 18-24 months. You don't have to upgrade of course, but I think Adobe have moved now towards only being able to upgrade from a recent addition. You can't upgrade to CS6 from CS2 www.adobe.com/products/creativesuite/upgradeinfo.html.

If you live in the states and kno wsomeone who is in the education business, you can get CS6 for about $349. Just go to the Adobe site, look up educator's page and follow the simple directions. The student, teacher or administrator has to show proof of their job status but that's about it.
Since I give lots of advice to my former school on their art/photography program, they allow me to continue to use my educator "proofs." Deal, eh?

If in education you can get it cheap. I'm surprised Adobe haven't given CS2 away sooner, especially as they have taken it out of the upgrade path. As I said above, a lot of those who download CS2 now will probably end up buying CS6. So it makes sense to give it away. What else are they going to do with it? Bit like filling empty plane seats cheaply.

I take it all back...well most of it . The link is now available. You can get teacher discount in the UK but the number of package options flummoxed me completely...would I want standard, premium, teacher/student love affair pack? God knows. What I did gather is that I would have to send proof of profession...corduroy sports jacket with leather elbow patches, chalk stained underpants or proof I was an active member of the Baden-Powell Mienhoff group. So after a few seconds considering this I will stick with GIMP 2.8...because I am a cheap skate. ;D

I have no clue but do wonder why you carry chalk in your underpants...unless you have a chafing problem.
