Open this in flickr and go to black screen and you can really appreciate how delicate the lighting is on keeping the detail in the veining in the petals and on the stem. This is a great example of how it should look. nicely accomplished, fair rob.

Well, I was going to say it looked like a drawing and then I read your annotation on Flickr. Just what are we going to have to do to wrest your secret from you?
I'm partial to withered and dried blossoms, being a withered and dried blossom myself, so naturally, I love it.

Somehow, I sincerely doubt you are anywhere close to whithered, dear Janis.

Maybe withered blossoms are the reason I keep getting pop ups from a man in Nigeria wanting to sell me little blue pills - why is it when you turn a certain age the internet seems to think all I think about is trousorial stirrings and marrying a young Russian bride (ex-ballerina mind) Great detail Rob. It is very Pierre-Joseph Redouté-ish. Stacking and slight over-sharpening? may be with a low elevation bump mapping pass?

Nicely done Rob. Hopefully the head gardener will manage to resurrect it next winter. Easter might be a bit of a challenge even for her

Really nice, Rob. Reminded me of...gosh, can't think what type of paint crayons I use for watercolor... But that's what I fist thought of. Pretty color tones.
Withered. Wrinkled. Lifeless. Moi.
