The focus looks better on #2. The background looks better as well. It's kinda creepy the way they turn their heads to look at you. I've had them jump at me. Aaack!

Thanks George Yes, they are interesting creatures and I was a little concerned that he may jump out at me. I swear the focus is sharper on the original. I think something gets lost in posting to Flickr and then posting here. Oh well - I'll have to pay attention to that more often. And the background on the first one is the actual light fixture, so it was hard to really do much with it. The background of the second one is the wall, which helped. Thanks for your input. I'm still playing around with this macro stuff and since this guy was on the light fixture, figured macro was a better way to go than not... too bad he wasn't on a flower or something more natural frankie
