I'm new on here, so this is my first attempt posting an image. Assuming it comes through, let me know what you think.

First off,let me say welcome to the cafe.Your pic has come through, but I'm on my iPod,so It's a small image. This would make an interesting abstract, but I feel there is a lack of a focal point with to much going on in the image which make my eyes wander all over the place. If possible,go back and shoot some more of this wall, especially the shoe strings tied to what I assume is a nail.

I like this one, Ken. Lots of activity without being overly "busy."

A very warm welcome to FSC Ken. When you have seen a few of my images you will know why I really like this. It is simple get full of texture and detail. I like the processing too. I would put this on my wall

Thanks guys! Some do consider this (and others of mine) a little busy, and I see the point, but this is what I have to work with in this sort of setting - not everyone's cup of tea I suppose. I'll have to look at your images, Wirefox, and I'll post more of mine. I need to update my Photobucket gallery because I'd become accustomed to uploading jpg files directly on another site.

Ken, you can still upload direct from you computer if you wish...sort of The only issue is that Tinypic is full of ads but you can ignore those. Just click on the 'Upload with TinyPic' control in the full reply dialog and follow the steps. Set the resize option to 17" screen. When the image has finished uploading copy the code from field labeled 'IMG Code for Forums & Message Boards' and paste into you post...that's it

Ken Lovely to have you with us. Everyone gets one of these when they first arrive. I do like your image and the longer I look at it, the more interesting it gets. I hope you don't mind but I had a little play around with it (we do that a lot around here to share ideas but if you are not keen then speak up and they can soon be taken down). When I first looked at it, the top half grabbed and held my attention the most. I think because of the way the string is framed nicely by the circle scratch. So I wanted to see what a crop looked like. But then I got carried away and applied a recipe in Color Efex and the result was something that looks much more like one of Wirefox's images (when you get a chance to see his work you will see why). I can't understand why but that then looked far better to me as the original image. liek this- Like I said, no offence meant at hacking your image around. It is great to "meet" you and I hope we see more of your work soon.

Your crop is kind of what I had in mind.

No, I don't mind people improvising. The crop is interesting and I'll have to think about it. The other is not really my style. I'll try to post more later.
