Can't help you Chris. is it a screen dump (CTRL+prtsc) you want to do or a step within CS6?

Does it capture the whole CS6 window or just the image? How did you do it before?

Select copy ? :-) alt print screen to capture the live window or print screen to capture the full screen for windows
Use the screen grab application in OSX it is in the utilities folder. You can select whatever you wish to capture...very handy but you need to convert the capture from tiff to jpg in preview.

Weird. have you tried pasting it into CS6 itself rather than paint? When you have something on the clipboard and go to file, new it gives you the correct canvas size for whatever is on the clipboard, then paste as normal.
