It's always risky doing this sort of thing as it's not everybody's cup of tea. I quite like this, it's not too over the top.
It looks like you have some colour creeping in to the chimney pot and part of the roof on one of the roght hand side houses. Quick fix needed.

Thanks Steve. There is actually quite a lot of colour in the image, as it isn't totally desaturated. It is based on a Lightroom preset I found, which basically desaturates by about 50% and then boosts the reds, yellows, oranges and greens. I couldn't resist a little tweak of my own after all that!!

WOW! Thats really a beautiful picture, of a beautiful place. I just love the tones. The only thing that is disturbing me is a bit of shallow DoF! Or maybe the point of focus could have been somewhere in the center. But again, beautiful pic.

Hello Mike You have used a Lightroom preset but you have tweaked a bit in the good direction. For me the reds are too strong but I do like the overhall image. Interesting the use of a lattice in such a narrow canal... I was suspecting that this could be in the region of the river La Loire and I was right ;D www.beaugency.fr/decouvrir-beaugency/nature-et-environnement/randonnees.html- But Mike, excuse me for being so bold and make you this question: Do you really - really - like to have the background of your photo page in white ? I am not so keen about this option that is why I am asking. For me it is so agressive that I tend to move on. Perhaps I am wrong

I'm even more impressed by your reasoning. As for the website, well, it used to be grey but then so did every other site, so I changed it to white, just to be different. Each photograph can be viewed in a lightbox. The option 'dim the lights' appears if you hover over the top left corner of the image in a gallery. Thanks for your comments.
