Hello Ken, In viewing this image I find myself distracted by a kind of fuzzy look to the pad lock. In contrast, the writing on the hasp is clear and sharp. Not sure if the above is real or intended - but I'm kinda scratching my head.

I see what you mean Nick, but can't really explain it. The bottom of the lock is a tiny bit soft when viewed at high magnification, and that makes sense because it is closer to the lens than anything else and at 7.1 the aperture didn't give me a huge DOF at this distance. However, the top of the lock (the shackle - just looked this up) looks that way also, although it is in the same plane as other objects which appear sharper.
This didn't really bother me for some reason, but I can see how it could be distracting.

Easy cure is to do some selective sharpening on the lock with a bit of overall contrast to the overall image.

Thanks Chris. I agree about the selective sharpening and contrast, and I'll have to go back and do those, but the saturation is a bit much for me - probably just resulted from darkening the lower mid-tones - I'll probably dial that back.

I didn't add any additional saturation but suspect the contrast curve took it there. I did go back and mask back the dark line (rubber I suspect) to something closer to its original state.

I like this image, but what jars me a tad is the dichotomy between old (wood, paint and hasp) and new (the lock). IMHO, It would look really cool if it had an old rusty lock on.
