Relative to the fireworks, that is. A fairly mundane shot, but I was practising my macro flash technique with the R1C1 rig. I was shooting wildflowers in the yard at the lake and the mosquitoes were making work on the tripod too torturous. C&C welcome.

Thanks, Steve. Not too sharp? I'm also wondering whether that's chromatic aberration I'm seeing in the filaments at the top. I think I am going to revisit the processing on this one.

not too sharp IMHO. It needs some really sharp areas to stand out from the very similar OOF areas. Have you tried it in B&W? Just an idea?

I like your composition, Steve. As a matter of fact, a co-worker and I were looking at it yesterday and musing about getting rid of the stem entirely, so this is what I came up with.
