It was not at all a pretty day: cold, overcast and generally gloomy. No fills, kickers or really any reflectors (nothing to reflect). I haven't shot in this kind of venue in forever so for me it was just a bit of a lark to see if I could get some decent images. (We were shooting on the grounds of a speed shop with a lot of cars "in progress.") "Naughty, but Nice" "Emily" "No, Debbie, No!" "Truck Drivin' Blues"

Looks like a good day out Chris. Was this a workshop you were running?
Who wouldn't like the last one? Lovely.
Number 2 is the star for me though. It has a real charm to it. A kind of British seaside humour feel.
For me 1 and 3 are just asking to be re-shot with some real dramatic lighting.

Absolutely a gloomy day and not a light in the place...I want to reshoot, though with the first model and the second.

Are you geared up for a bit of Strobism? Radio triggers, speedlites et al?

You can do a heck of a lot worse than Yongnuo for speedlites and triggers. I have a Canon speedlite for when I want ETTL, but for when I am working manually I have three Yongnuo YN560 speedlites. They never miss a beat and I pick them up from e-bay at no more than £60 each.
Likewise the triggers are Yongnuo RF602 (but I think the Nikon ones are RF603). They are superb for the money and again never miss a beat.
Couple the speedlites with Sanyo Eneloop batteries minimum 2000mah which you pick up for no more than $10 for a pack of 4 AA size and you can shoot a heck of a lot off one charge.
For the same price as a single NIkon/Canon Speedlite you can get three, yongnuo speedlites, triggers, stands and brollies plus a full set of gels too. No contest and great fun too.
