Since no one seems to like this, can you tell me why?

Since no one seems to like this, can you tell me why? I think the light was a little harsh for my taste, especially the bright spots in the background. BTW, no one commented on the last couple of things I posted either; this site's been pretty dead the past few days.

Life getting in the way for a few of us it seems.
It is a bit on the harsh side Chris. Doesn't really suit the subject so much.

I don't mind the lighting. I like the picture. My only nit would be the bokeh haloes that bracket the petal in the middle back.
Life does get in the way. My pal Cody the Boxer is now deceased (that was wrenching, holding him as he died and now his ashes are ready to be picked up), there's a 32mi/day bicycle commute challenge for May(zombie time), and I'm trying to get up to speed on some technology related to work (BeagleBone Black and Arduino). Barely any pictures.

Sorry to hear about Cody George, it's never easy. Thanks, Steve. They are such wonderful creatures, but they have such short life-spans. (Well, it is true that they've been bred to be so agreeable, but still...)
