I had to drive over to Hull on Friday, for a meeting (about 2hours) but that didn't happen, so, as I was very close and not been before, I went and had a wander around the park that surrounds the North end of the Humber Bridge. I didn't have long and the sky was mostly flat, but I took a few snaps, trying just to give a sense of the scale. The meeting is rescheduled for 3weeks time, so will try to go back and, with luck, do a better job of the photos... _DSC0027.jpg by nigeltown1, on Flickr _DSC0029.jpg by nigeltown1, on Flickr _DSC0034.jpg by nigeltown1, on Flickr _DSC0038.jpg by nigeltown1, on Flickr _DSC0059-Edit.jpg by nigeltown1, on Flickr I know this last one is not even in focus - but I like it...

Tough gig Nigel. Well worth another crack – last one shows that there is loads of potential. How about night time ?

Hi Nick,
Yes, it was just an ad-hoc visit and I had so little time, I was pretty much just shooting what I saw, but, as you say, there is a lot more potential, so, with a bit more time...
I will take some better footwear, so I can walk along the foreshore, the biggest problem I had was getting far enough away to actually get the whole bridge in shot without other things masking it - it is over a mile long!
As to night time, I don't know how well lit it is, but the evenings are drawing in.

That last one has real potential, just need to climb up and get over that blasted fence!

Hi,
I agree, about the fence, I may be able to take the shot with my arms above my head to clear it. As I said, on the day I was just 'snapping' due to pressure of time.
When I go back it will probably be pouring with rain, but I live in hope...
Cheers

I always carry a small folding ladder when I go out on shoots...makes fences a little less obtrusive.
