Taken in the wonderful walled town of Flavigny sur Ozerain in France where the film 'Chocolat' was filmed.

Very nice Mike. I like the processing very much, really suits it.

Thanks Steve. A combination of Lightroom, Silver Efex Pro and Photoshop.

Good job Mike. I like the way that this type of subject can be interpreted in so many different ways. In SEP did you start with a particular pre-set?

Nick, I always start in Lightroom and optimise the colour image before editing in SEP. As I live on the dark side (!) I usually start with Film Noir 1, get rid of the border, get rid of the grain and then play for awhile to get the basic look. It is then back to Lightroom for extensive localised tweaking with the adjustment brush. Finally I'll pop into PS to check the levels in particular or experiment to see if I can get anymore out of the image using the unsharp mask. Back to Lightroom, check the blinks and export as a jpeg for posting. It sounds complicated but doesn't take too long, although I do use the 'virtual copy' facility in Lightroom quite extensively to either stop at a certain stage of the edit I'm happy with before heading off in a different direction or simply to create different versions for comparison.

I might suggest you use the distortion control in PS to bring your sides into a more vertical position. I've used that Noir method before as well. Lots of fun stuff in the NIK package.
