I like the setting and composition, Mike, but not overly fond of the processing on this one. Sunsets for me need to be a little softer.

I take your point Chris but the light was this harsh, although the conversion to jpeg and upload has increased the contrast somewhat over the image in LR.

As it tends to do in B&W much more so than in colour.

I guess it is as a result of winding up the 'amperage' on b & w to gain some punch.

Mike, I hate to make comment on your images since you are so knowledgeable, but here goes.
Did you apply grain? Too gritty for my taste. What was your ISO? the sky looks as if it is noisy, not grainy.
I love this scene. Could you show the RAW color version?
