I am on a 22" monitor (dual monitors, dual processor) and I cannot get the whole text box to open when I open a thread. This just started with the new setup, so...am wondering if this is an IE8 problem or a general overall glitch?
I have no choice at school to use anything but IE8

Chris any possibility of a screen shot? IE8 struggles with this portal page. Rob has tested using IE8 and its ok on his machine...just not sure what gives at present. Are Java scripts enabled in your browser?

Hang on...did you say you were having problems once in the forum rather than the portal page? You mentioned text box and thread..that sets alarm bells dinging. Does this version of the forum work OK for you?

I have just checked my version of IE8 and the forum all looks good to me with text being where it should be.

Thanks Barry. You will see a few formatting changes over the course of today. I am experimenting with a cleaner more more consistent look for the forum. The 2nd iteration was getting a little disjointed and looking like the inside of WireVixens handbag

On my monitor, the id tag/avatar box is much larger than it used to be, thus pushing the text box to the right by about three words. I have to use the scroll bar at the bottom to read all the text.
Not sure how to do a screen shot...please advise.

Barry, thanks for trying but that link downloads a .exe (Windows executable) file and I using am using a Mac. Chris, The the mini profile next to the posts is sizable down to 20% of the native forum width (800px) so if you drag the frame of the browser window inwards the width of the mini profile will reduce until it equals 20% of 800px. Do you view the forum in a full screen window? If so the profile box will be wide and the text run off at the right of the thread post is dictated by the with of an images within the thread. That is a price we pay for allowing 1024px images on the forum. In windows you can get a screen cap by following the instructions in the link. if you Save As a .jpg you can link it straight into the forum by using the 'Add image to post' control at the top of the reply box. Good luck windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-xp/help/setup/take-a-screen-shotOn my monitor, the id tag/avatar box is much larger than it used to be, thus pushing the text box to the right by about three words. I have to use the scroll bar at the bottom to read all the text. Not sure how to do a screen shot...please advise.

When I try to resize that other window, I get no cropping arrow or way to cahnge anything. What you see above is exactly how it opens in my browser...this is a 64 bit system.

Hi Chris
I am not seeing your image. I have just borrowed my sons laptop running Vista and IE8 and the forum works fine. I can resize the browser window no problem.
I am getting a bit dozy now so can I just affirm that you are using the f-stop-cafe.com forum when this is happening and not the test board with the portal.
Many thanks
Steve
