George! Wow! I am not the only nutter around here who makes images out of grisly findings! mwah, mwah! ;D
Of the two images you have posted, I much prefer the second as the first is, for me, a bit of a mish-mash and without enough detail to resonate. What I probably should say is that there is too much detail to take in, so my eye skitteres around, trying to find a point to rest on.
The second one might be stronger with a wee rotation to the left - so the lower edge of the jawbone is lying at a bit more of an angle. But I like the simplicity of this - the idea goes straight home. The animal must have been quite young, I guess as the teeth are still sharp.
