Some of you have seen a BW version of this before. I thought I'd try colour. It's a stacked set of five images shot on black perspex. I then put a solid black layer on top in CS5 and drew an elliptical marquee shape and feathered it and erased (eraser tool) the slected elliptical area. It looks like a strong vignette, but it has worked better than the normal methods of doing that, I think. play a duet with me by rob marshall images, on Flickr

I like this better than the one in black and white. It is almost B&W - black and silver and a bit more 'rich' which a clarinet is. Actually, I feel like I can see more detail in this one - in the textures on the wood and the metal or...maybe, the color is making me want to explore it more. It's such an unusual view of a clarinet, though, I'm never quite sure what to think about it.....

The color in this shot reminds me of a recent post of a Firetruck's discharge system. Nice, subtle reflective values with muted highlights. Both were done completely differently, but both share that same richness in detail.

This image pipped me to the post in a comp a few moons back...actually it may have wiped the floor with me . I knew as soon as you had posted it in the comp that it was a winner. To be honest I like this colour version even better. It has far more depth to it.
