Yesterday we took a detour on the way back from picking up Seb from College and we stopped off at Cluis, as there is an old chateau ruin there with a hilltop chapel. What we didn't know was that there is also a very large viaduct! We could not get to any position to take a shot of the viaduct, as the signposts took us actually onto the viaduct itself. We walked across it and took some shots of the massive views (I don't know why, because I can never get them to look as good in a photo ) As we walked back off the viaduct I looked back and saw that the sun was perfectly aligned with the viaduct - here is the shot. edit : just added the Chapel and The Chateau Ruins... The Chapel at Cluis The Chateau Ruins

Excellent symmetry in #1. Looks quite surreal.

Thanks for the kind comments. This place is about 40mins away for us, so I am sure I will be revisiting the same spot at different times of year - too good to miss! Can't wait for the winter snow!!!

I like the 1st one a lot, Rob. A very tight portrait crop with just the bridge and the sun would work nicely for my taste. The other two are awesome shots, too though I would prefer the 2nd one on a landscape mode. When I saw your other half's shot of yours I'd say that she has a good eye for photography. Why don't you invite her to join us here? That would be awesome!

Thanks Jiro, I do have a portrait version of the bridge (I think it was that one my OH caught me taking, judging by the way I'm holding the camera). But the exposure is not good on that one Agree about #2 - landscape would be better here, #2 has far too much foreground grass! My OH loves photography, and may well be interested in joining...I'll check - thanks.

I'd be very interested to see how you two would match up if we have a contest here at F-Stop in the future. Hahaha! Just joking. I'm really happy to see a couple enjoying the same hobby and actually doing it together from time to time. For me, in the short time that I still have, I hope that I can impart some ideas with my daughter as she is the only one who really digs my interest in photography in the family. She's more into painting right now but is always busy taking snapshots using her iphone.
