I took them out in the first conversion and the road seemed way too sterile...have to think about that again...but to me, they help lead the eye into the light.

Personally I think what makes this image is the fact that you have 3 well composed components - the road, the banking and the trees. They have a very natural harmony but the unseen emitter of the ethereal light is the where we are naturally trying to get to in our minds. The leaves detract from that journey. It is not a big issue though because the image is definitely one of your best.

embarrassingly i had to look adjectivisation up lol I make it a point to try to learn at least one new word a week, preferably one each day...I have a rather large vocabulary but I still, like most folks, tend to use the easy ones so as not to obsfucate the conversation of the moment.

I didn't even know it was a real word . We have had Noellesque, Wirefoxian Jiro Technique etc so its only a matter of time. The most coveted accolade though is the Golden Essh! awarded by Katy for the images that commit visual assault on your eyeballs. I have three in pride of place on my mantlepiece.
