That is surely a very good point ! I agree with you.
However in this particular case, I don't think it is necessary because the scale of the structure is "understandable" to most people.
The scale is on the ground, on the rocks at the foreground for example.
Moreover, this image is inserted among others where the scale is quite visible. Have a look at their site and you will see what I mean.
