Another from this year's trip to the UK. This time, near my parents home, further along the South coast. Just like Eastbourne (with the dog on the beach), another wet, windy and bitterly cold day. The Boardwalk along the Dunes. The Dunes to the Beach

I like both of these. Image 1 'The Boardwalk along the Dunes' has some good lines in it to draw your eye with the fence rails and walkway, but felt that a good crop off the top as far as the top of the last bit of fencing, would make this image so much stronger, with this done I don't think there would be the need for dodging the corners so much either.
Image 2 'The Dunes to the Beach', has some good detail in those grasses, and I like the deserted beach with the waves crashing against those grones, but like the first image, I would crop out the sky which has nothing to offer in the way of detail.
PS. any chance of you editing your profile to let us know if you are happy or not, for your images to be edited and reposted to show what we mean.

Both images are straight from camera as far as composition is concerned (just cropped to 4:3 - my personal favourite format). Both composed to the basic "ROT" - not trying to be clever with a composition (still learning here) Agreed, the sky is boring and in these images it only serves to stop the eye going pass the headland.
I will change my profile to permit editing (didn't know it wasn't ...), give me a couple of minutes... and go for it!
If you prefer you can download the 1370px wide images from my Flickr (I don't go bigger because that size suit my laptop screen).
