We had another couple of inches of snow last night, that's now over a week with snow on the ground. It made a "fresh" morning for a walk with the dog (and Mandy).

Put that dog on a hill, sillouetted against that same sky and you'd lose everything but his eyes and nose.

Oh, I love it! What an accessible scene! I can hear the snow crunching and the air looks cold but not enough to....freeze your nose hairs. (What am I saying?! - but, honestly, that's how it looks.) It looks really pleasant - the light and pings of glinting snow. We're enjoying spring two months early, at the moment. So, 500px? - who knows. gorgeous image that I love? Definitely!

Oh, funny, Chris! I didn't see it at first glance. Not until I'd made my comment and looked back.

You have controlled the exposure well, with shooting into the sun, and still retained good detail in Mandy and Dog. Composition is also good with the main tree holding the left, and hedgerow coming in from the right.

Ahh. I should have said - this is a single exposure "pseudo" HDR (-2/0/+2), processed in Photomatix as realistically as I could. Exposure control is not down to me, I couldn't do this without using either HDR or Grad ND filters.

Well you did a nice job with it Rob. It is a fine image and so many would have over cooked it. Very well done.
