This is much better Antonio, however I am still slightly bias to the color version. Bah ! Not good !

Antonio, I have been observing you considering B&W, this past month. I've been thinking about it, too, for a while, now. I like B&W - some of my favorite images are B&W. Actually, I love them because of the B&W but why they speak so strongly wasn't easy to understand, at first. I'm still thinking about it....
So, one thing that I've been thinking is that I like photographs, in general, because they're a bit surreal - life suspended. Even if they're journalistic - a photo takes us outside of time and space. I think that B&W can enhance that experience. It adds to the sense of a moment removed from the ordinary - even if it's about the ordinary.
B&W can, also, be used to 'quiet' an image and make us focus on the content - the intent of the image.
Also (like others have said above), when we take away color to help tell the story, the strength of the photo leans more heavily on the other elements that make up a good photo - content, composition, lighting, etc. For this reason, even though I love color, I've been thinking that I should take a month and just shoot B&W. So, now, I understand why there are a lot of photographers who do their commercial work in color and their artistic/personal work in B&W.

Not me...I think in the beginning, this is close to what you were looking for. You might try a scrim made from a square of PVC pipe and some semi-opaque plastic sheeting about two feet above their heads to diffuse the light on the baby. I like this version and expect I'll see another of it in the near future, dead-on perfect.

I have experimented a little with this image (for my own benefit really) and adjusted colours of the clothing of both of the original. IMO it seemed to make it easier to process to BW. Here is my attempt at this one...

@ Katy - Thank you for your words Katy. @ Chris - The thing is that I do rarely flash photography - I said it before - and I am not systematic on the approches using this equipment in spite of having a panoplia of gadgets, o because of them I must - must - set a scenario and test before they come at my home. I really hope to de something better next time. @ Rob - Thank you Rob. I have been like a fool trying to change the yellow into some other colour but I couldn't do it ;D. You did it perfectly. Your B&W version is not very far from mine, is it ? Thank you for the work done - In flash photogrphy - or at least the way I want to do it - I have to: 1. Use Manual (already done) 2. Manual flash 3. Consistency on the positions of both photographer and subject 4. Test photographs for evaluation 5. Max speed sync (1/200 or 1/250) 6. Use of ISO and Aperture. Have I forgotten anything ?

Your B&W version is not very far from mine, is it ? I think there is quite a big difference Antonio... ...but that's the thing with BW, there are so many ways of processing! The correct version is the photographer's choice in the end.

Sorry Rob, you are right. I was comparing the wrong versions.
