Took this whilst I was in Vietnam, these rice fields were in various stages of growth. It was very warm here with hazy sky's. Nikon D200, f9, 1/45sec, ISO200, Nikon 18-200VR Lens at 200mm Colour Version

Barry, I like the feel of this - it has a timeless quality about it. I feel that the three hats in a triangle is a very strong part of the image. I wonder if a crop may make a strong image stronger? Maybe take out the top most lighter background? Maybe with a square crop? Some parts look a little hot, so printing might be a little difficult - I'm think about that particular type of competition judge.

Love the shot barry. Love the crop too i see no way of improving the image. There is a few burned highlights where the sun is reflecting but this doesn't spoil it. i would like to see a colour version too.

Nick, there were four in the shot to start with, but had to remove one, so as not to give the judge something to complain about.
Rob, I will post the colour version later on, once I have found it.

Here is my B&W version. I am sorry if the rural instruments on the right are not complete but... I used 3/4 ratio. Do you like it Barry ? I do. I do like the mist at the end...

At first I only had the colour version, then I was reading a magazine that had a similar image in B&W, that is what got me thinking about this shot, so I had to have a play and to be honest I now prefer the B&W version, including your edit, I see that you left the forth lady in your edit, I could not decide, so took her out thinking that a odd number seemed more pleasing on the eye. The mist/haze in the background worked out well, as it stops your eye wandering too far away from the main subjects.

Here is an example of what I was trying to say on the other thread: In B&W the photography is better than in colour

I prefer the b&w too. The colour looks a little cold. I've added a orange filter to the image. I think it works well as specially in the haze. What do you think Barry?

You could push it even further. Orange filter at 40%

As you say it does give a warmer feel to that haze, I had not thought about doing that.
