There is nothing wrong with using a longer focal length for landscapes, particularly if you want to compress the background to get more detail in your composition.
Number 4 is a great shot Victoria. Very nice indeed.

Victoria, many use the tele for landscapes as you have done. It can be quite effective, especially if you are looking for some compression. Telephotos rather condence a scene. The far away mountains and the trees inbetween will look to have less space between them than with a typical wide angle. Here I like # 3 and would be much improved with a slight black point adjust and sharpening. I see Steve types fast than I. I can give a quick edit and post the outcome if you like?
