I am going to go against my own advice here and post b/w and a colour version together (because I am fickle like that) ;D

Just noticed..I'm half asleep..heavy posterising on the b/w version, that needs sorting

B&W does this image no justice at all over the color version...I love the way all the different planes work together, both in flow and color separation. Greens are simply luscious and the sky is to kill for.
This is one of your best posts of a "normal" shot. A 10 in my book.

Colour one for me, great sky and simple fields with good lines, just can't decide if I like the wheat field at bottom or not.
Just had another look, and I feel it would be stronger image without.

Absolutely gorgeous! Just gorgeous! (I like the wheat field at the bottom - it adds a bit more interest and a lovely base.) I didn't quite realize that you could, actually, take 'normal' photos..... edit: I like the color over the B&W better, too - it seems to read better for some reason. Steve, is that noise that I'm seeing? Not sure so thought that I might mention it.

Agree about cropping the foreground field. Without it the view seems to be larger and more "epic". A less is more moment Has to be colour for this one!

I also think the crop is a good direction to go. Nice image Steve.

Try as I might, I just can't see the decapitated rabbit with an eyeball for a tail I give up Steve, where is it? Seriously though, nice picture. maybe just a touch too much sky at the top for me. After the fluffy clouds, the rest of the sky loses interest. Some lovely shapes, contours and shades in the fields too. Colour all the way.

Steve, I'm a little late on this but i just wanted to offer the view that this is a very high quality image. Accordingly, we've all enjoyed a fine time discussing various ways to present what you've done. I'm of the view that there is no one best way or view or crop or colour v B&W here. Different yes - best no.
