Thanks, Willie. If my work from the last year have any merit, it is due in part to you. You made my heart so glad with that remark, Janis. I am very happy that in some ways I was able to be of help to you. Many thanks again, Girl.

Janis, Thanks for posting those. Different subject mater – but all have wonderful light in common. Thanks, Nick. I hadn't noticed the commonality, but the fact is that I am quite sensitive to light and it is one of the things I most want to capture.

Thanks, Paul! and, thanks, Nick, I could absolutely always use a seaside and/or castle fix!!! (er, not joking - just ask RobM. : Ah... Katy – Thanks for posting your 5. Once again - above all - it's the light, it's always the light. Oh … and Katy's Kastle Korner ™ is being worked on.

I've been a bit slow to find this thread but I'm glad I did. It's really nice to see everyone's collections - and what quality!. I'll be back with mine later.

No. 1 Irish Beach, CA Northern California by gmontjr, on Flickr Olympus E-510, 70mm, ISO 400, f/11 at 1/125, -2 EV I love road shots. Where does it go? No. 2 Pacific Evening Northern California by gmontjr, on Flickr Olympus E-501, 70mm, ISO 400, f/11 at 1/1000, -2 EV I really like the mood in this one. No. 3 Atsion Lake Sunset New Jersey Pine Barrens by gmontjr, on Flickr Nikon D90, 18mm, ISO 1600, f/22 at 1/4 I've driven past this lake each workday for the past 20 years. I love the many moods the lake displays, none more so than at sunset. No. 4 Titmouse Home by gmontjr, on Flickr Olympus E-510, 300mm, ISO 400, f/8.0 at 1/250 I love birds and am inordinately pleased when I manage a decent shot. This one is almost monochromatic. No. 5 - Matt and Beth matthew and beth by gmontjr, on Flickr Canon A590 IS, 5.8mm, ISO 400, f/2.6 at 1/13. One of those snapshots that worked out. We were at the N.C. Aquarium in Ft. Fisher. I didn't want to lug a DSLR around, so I slipped my Powershot A590 into my pocket. Some of these pictures have not been processed very well. I hope to remedy that. Thanks for viewing.

First up, one of the first and best photos I took with my Canon S95. One of my favorite shots so far of my beloved husky-shepherd Stella. Jannis I really do like that first shot. Excellent composition and the colurs and vibrancy of it make it really stand out. It wouldn't be much on it's own, but the reflection really makes it. As for Stella.... well... I think the little cutie needs a little holiday in Wales. Send me a PM to arrange the details.

Well what a treat this thread has been so far, I have really enjoyed a peek into the choices you have made, which also seem to reflect the personality of those as I know them, which I really like. So here are a few of my favourite things... yep correct note to self, leave the singing to Katy As Sport is my thing, I thought I would start there... this 1 is from my first tilt at a stage show... I'm hooked, I want to go back..... This 1 is my friend's daughter, my favourite portrait so far, but I am having fun with more This 1 is way off the norm for me, it is an idea, that I had & then followed to completion, very different to the journalistic style of my sports.... and finally just to confirm I know where I belong! - I'll finish with 1 of my Basketballers, I chose this 1 because of the score board adding to the energy.... it's a 1 pt ball game!

Well what a treat this thread has been so far, I have really enjoyed a peek into the choices you have made, which also seem to reflect the personality of those as I know them, which I really like. Oh, once again, you've said it perfectly, Kay! I'm loving this thread. It was so fun to do my own and it's, something I can't quite put into words, seeing what others share. So here are a few of my favourite things... yep correct note to self, leave the singing to Katy It took me a moment to figure that out. I've always loved hearing people sing who love it but, er, can't....except for when they, er, can't and are singing really loudly in choir. Now, THAT bugs me. The rest is pure joy! SO, everyone - sing away! I've seen and really liked all of these photos, except for the last one, which, is new to me. It's just brilliant! ;D

Kay, Thanks for posting your 5. I'm loving the variation we have here already. I particularly admire #2 – getting any kind of flesh tone with stage lighting is a nightmare – and you nailed it.
