Perhaps there are too many parameters at work with this image to get an accurate read but I was testing the range of a lens the other day, really pushing the "exposure norm" to see how far I could go and still get a good image. The original was shot with a 16-85 Nikkor 3.5 lens on my D7000 at f:/5.6 1/2500, ISO 320 - very, very bright outside. Workflow consists of RAW conversion where I set my white balance at 4950 -10 tint, did a -.35 exposure, 32 recovery, 42 fill, 27 blacks 28 clarity, 25 vibrancy. Tone Curve was -3, -25, -13, +25. Set for Lens Correction. In my adjustments, I did a Levels to set my black point, Curve to pull back the darks with a bit of brightening but it is a very slight "S" curve, a Hue/Sat with Sat at +8, Light at -1. Did a high pass sharpen at 3.0, desaturated the layer, then blended with Overlay, opacity to 80%. In the SEP version, I set the SEP with +14 Bright, +11 Contrast and did a blend mode of Luminoisty at 50%. I left out (deliberately), Structure. SEP version is on the right. I primarily use it to give better definition to the shadows, which in turn tends to pop the other colors forward.
